Quick Start

Sync your prior filings

Pull four years of EDGAR history and pre-populate the Vault.

Updated 2026-04-30syncedgarbackfill

Most issuers come to Market Fortress with several years of EDGAR history. The backfill takes that history and turns it into a clean Vault.

What gets pulled

The backfill pulls every 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, DEF 14A, and Form 4 from your CIK for the last four years. We parse the text and extract structured facts: officer names, board composition, equity grants, litigation matters, material contracts, risk factors, and accounting policies.

How long it takes

For a typical reporter, the backfill completes in 5 to 10 minutes. Larger filers (more frequent 8-Ks, more amendments) can take up to 25 minutes. You will see a progress bar with section-by-section status.

What you do during it

Nothing. You can leave the page. We email you when it is ready. The page itself shows what we extracted, grouped by register, and lets you accept or reject each fact before it lands in the Vault.

Reviewing the results

Once parsing is done, you walk a review screen. For every extracted fact you see the source filing, the exact passage, and the proposed Vault entry. Accept, edit, or reject. Bulk accept is available for routine items.

What to fix manually

EDGAR text-based filings are noisy. Officer titles in particular often arrive abbreviated. Plan for 30 to 60 minutes of manual cleanup after the backfill, especially for material contracts (we extract names but not full counterparty terms).

When the backfill misses something

You can push any filing to the Vault manually from the Drafts module. See "Push to Vault" for the workflow.
